Description of Organization
Wells is one of 27 National Estuarine Research Reserves around the country working to protect and restore healthy estuaries and coastal watersheds where coastal communities and ecosystems can thrive. The Reserve is a partnership between the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Maine Coastal Program, and the Laudholm Trust. It supports wise use of our coastal resources by combining research, education, and stewardship with outreach and training.
