Abstract/Description
Beginning with Habitat has provided every town in Maine with a set of maps and associated information that are intended to help guide conservation decisions. Learning where high value habitats are located, as determined by a habitat-based lanscape approach to conservation helps communities decide which land parcels are most important to conserve. This booklet describes the rationale for a habitat-based approach to conservation and provides backround information on the Beginning with Habiatat Maps as well as suggestions for using the maps.
