Examination of the impacts of  oil spills on fringing marshes in the Fore River.  The oil spills happened in 1972 and 1996. Three sites on the Fore River were compared with three reference sites elsewhere  in Casco Bay. Differences in the invertebrate, fish and plant communities  between impacted and reference sites included lower density of the hydrocarbon-intolerant Corophium at impacted sites, and lower species diversity at impacted sites, and details of survey methods and conclusions are provided in the report.
